"Can I get a vanilla cone?" "I'm sorry! Our machine is broken." It really does sound like a broken record but it's true. The ice cream machines at McDonald's are a tricky subject for the massive company. The machines themselves are supported by a third party company. The company says it has a team working on the problems and are introducing new solutions including new training and maintenance on the machines. According to an independent website, 11% of the machines are working nationwide.

The FTC sent letters to the fast food chain over the summer regarding what was going on with their machines, according to the Wall Street Journal.
