News was released yesterday that workers found a highly radioactive wasp nest at the Savannah River Site in South Carolina on July 3rd.
Workers sprayed the nest with insect killer, removed it, and disposed of it as radioactive waste.
No live wasps were found.
Officials say this isn't because of a new leak but from old radioactive contamination left over from when the site was fully operational during the Cold War.
The Savannah River Site was built in the 1950s and covers more than 300 square miles.
Officials say the tanks are deep inside the facility, and wasps usually only fly a few hundred yards from their nests, so there's no danger to people outside the site.
