A school bus driver in Castle Rock, Colorado is out of a job after being accused of abandoning 40 elementary school children.
It happened Monday afternoon on the kids' ride home. Students from Clear Sky Elementary School were scared after the substitute driver first refused to leave the parking lot on time because the kids were talking.
Then, the driver missed all of the stops.
The students were forced to get off the bus two miles away at an intersection. The children who had phones called their parents and others were taken home by Good Samaritans.
The Douglas County School District released a statement, saying it has partnered with Castle Rock PD to investigate the matter.
The school says it was an accident that the driver stopped at the wrong location and some of the kids got out on their own.
