A journalist is reportedly uninjured after being hit by a projectile believed to be either a firework or a tear gas canister during a George Floyd protest in Capitol Hill.
MSNBC says NBC News correspondent Jo Ling Kent was reporting live from the scene of a police standoff with protesters on Capitol Hill last night when she was hit and quickly ran off-screen.
Footage from her camera crew shows protesters running from police and screaming.
MSNBC posted the footage on Twitter and called the projectile a firework, but several others on Twitter note that the projectile came from the direction of police and appeared to be a tear gas canister or a flash bang device.
Kent later tweeted that the projectile just singed her jacket sleeve and that she was OK.
