Sources say Major League Baseball's owners are approving a proposal to begin the 2020 season and will send it to the Player's Union.
According to reports, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred held a conference call with owners on Monday who agreed to a plan to present to the players on today.
The proposal would have the league begin to play in July with all teams possibly using the designated hitter in an 82-game schedule against clubs in their divisions and the opposite division in the other league.
This would mean the Reds and Indians would only play games against National League and American League Central Division opponents.
