The National Football League is set to release its 2020 schedule this week with few to any changes due to the coronavirus pandemic.
League sources say the 17-week long schedule's opening weekend will remain on September 17th with the Super Bowl slated for February 7th, 2021.
Insiders say the league fully expects to have fans in the stands for its games but created several contingency plans in case the pandemic intensifies.
Some alternate ideas would have the season begin in mid-October with no bye weeks, no fans, and in centralized locations.
