The second-incarnation of the XFL is ending the same way as the first with the league filing for bankruptcy.
According to court filings released yesterday, Alpha Entertainment LLC, the entity behind the XFL is seeking Chapter Eleven bankruptcy protection from its creditors with as much as 50-million-dollars each in assets and liabilities.
The XFL launched with eight teams back in February and had completed half of its season schedule before it was forced to shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A few days before the court filing, the XFL released all 500 of its players, including former Buckeyes Cardale Jones, Doran Grant, and Tracy Sprinkle.
