The NCAA is granting an additional year of eligibility for spring sport athletes who lost their season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On Monday, the NCAA's Division One Council voted to allow schools to provide another season of competition for student-athletes who play spring sports, including baseball, softball, rowing, track and field, golf, tennis, and lacrosse.
The Council declined to offer more eligibility to winter sports competitors based on the fact their regular seasons had mostly completed.
The decision means seniors in basketball, fencing, gymnastics, hockey, wrestling, and swimming have now finished their college careers.
