OneRepublic has just released a new song, “Better Days,” which they wrote over the last week while in quarantine.
Frontman Ryan Tedder shares that a few of the members of the band wound up in quarantine together in his L.A. studio, so they used the time to finish their fifth album. “With only two songs left to finish, one of them happened to be ‘Better Days,’” he says. “We write about real experiences and events that happen to us — this is what happens when you write a song during a crisis.”
From now through September the band will be donating a portion of the streams to the MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief Fund. They are also asking fans to send in footage of acts of kindness or first responders helping bring aid, in order for them to be used in the song’s video.
