The Columbus Blue Jackets are preparing to go without one of their best players for the remainder of the regular season.
The team announced yesterday that All-Star defensemen Seth Jones would miss the next eight to ten weeks after having surgery on a hairline fracture in his ankle.
Jones suffered the injury on Saturday during the Jackets loss to Colorado when he tangled with Erik Johnson on a breakaway to the goal and ended up sliding feet first into the boards.
Depending on his rehab, Jones could be back in time for a potential playoff push.
