A major facelift is coming to downtown Canton, as city council has approved a $12.3 million renovation to Market Square. Outlined by 3rd NW and 4th NW from Market Ave to Court St, the area of about 2 acres will feature a covered stage, lighting and audio set up, restrooms, and a cafe which will feature an opening in it's roof that will shoot light into the night sky. Of the estimated $12.3 million, the city will be on the hook for an estimated $7.3 to $8.3 million dollars.
Citizens spoke their mind regarding the plan at Monday's city council meeting.
