The Guards took out the Tigers for the second time in as many nights, shutting out Detroit 4-0. Rookie George Valera drove in the game's first run with an RBI single in the 3rd. Later, Angel Martinez drove in Gabriel Arias with a single in the 6th. Bo Naylor added two insurance runs with a 2 RBI single in the ninth.
Gavin Williams (5 IP, 0 runs, 3 hits, 9 strikeouts, 2 walks) and five relievers combined to shut out the American League Central leaders. The Guards sit 4.5 games behind Detroit for the AL Central and remain 2.5 games behind the Red Sox for the final AL Wild Card spot.
