CLEVELAND, OH--- The Cleveland Guardians defeated the visiting Houston Astros 4-1 Saturday night. Cal Quantrill had a phenomenal night going 6 scoreless innings giving up only 3 hits and striking out 4.

Fans attending tonight enjoyed Myles Straw's jersey giveaway, on his giveaway night, Straw had 2 hits. His teammates performed very well tonight as well, Jose Ramirez would hit his 35th double of the year in the 1st inning, bringing in Amed Rosario. The Guardians then had a monster 2nd inning, the first run of that inning would come from an Andres Gimenez single and a throwing error from Aledmys Diaz, Austin Hedges scored off the error. Gimenez and Straw would be cleaned off the bases by a Rosario line drive single. After Quantrill's dominant 6 innings his bullpen helped out big time. Trevor Stephan and James Karinchak both had an inning with 2 strikeouts a piece. Clase then came in to close the game, although he gave up an Astros run, it was only his 2nd run in his last 32 appearances on the mound. This run came from Aledmys Diaz hitting a double.

The Guardians continue to host the Astros tomorrow at Progressive Field for a 12:05 first pitch, Triston McKenzie will be on the mound.
