Jordan Davis Surprises Couple Who Wed In A Parking Lot

Jordan Davis found the perfect occasion to perform his hit song “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot.” The singer recently surprised couple Carrie and John Michael Simpson and performed the song at their wedding, which was held in an actual parking lot.

According to “Good Morning America,” the couple got engaged in April, and waned to get married right away, so they decided to set out to find a parking lot to hold the ceremony, and one of the reasons was because Jordan’s song was their anthem.

“There’s a lyric from it that says, ‘Making the most of whatever we got / Even if it’s just a slow dance in a parking lot,’” Carrie shares. “That’s just kind of our anthem for life now of just making the most of whatever you get, even if it’s not that much just making the most of it.

When Jordan found out how special the song was to the couple he decided to surprise them with a performance of the tune via Zoom. “They had this huge moment in their lives, which is, I know, looking back on my marriage, it was such a special day,” Jordan tells “Good Morning America.” “I hate that some of the shine is getting covered up because of what’s going on.”
