The country music community is paying its respects to Hall of Fame guitarist Eddie Van Halen, who died yesterday after a long battle with throat cancer.
On Twitter, Kenny Chesney called him "a friend and a hero to anyone who has ever picked up a guitar and had a dream."
Brad Paisley said, "Eddie, your influence will live on forever." Keith Urban, Travis Denning, Phil Vassar and Jason Isbell also showed their love for the icon.
Van Halen was said to be surrounded by his wife and sons, his brother and drummer when he passed.
He was 65.
