Pirates Sweep Doubleheader Against Cardinals

The Pirates allowed only three runs over two games as they swept a doubleheader against the Cardinals in St. Louis.

Chad Kuhl only gave up one run over six innings as the Pirates edged the Cardinals 4-3 in eight innings in Game One.

Chris Stratton picked up the win in relief for the Bucs.

Josh Bell scored on an error in the eighth that extended the Pirates lead to 4-1.

In Game Two, Cody Ponce and the bullpen combined to help the Pirates shut down the Cardinals 2-0.

Erik Gonzalez and Adam Frazier drove in the Pittsburgh runs.

The Pirates have won five of seven.
