Coast Guard Crew On Swim Break Threatened By Shark

A swim break for the U.S. Coast Guard got ruined by a deep sea predator.

On Tuesday, 30 crew members of the Cutter Kimball got to relax in the ocean, even playing with a giant inflatable unicorn, when all of a sudden a large shark was located in the water aiming in the direction of the swimmers.

Shortly after the discovery, a member on the ship fired shots at the shark prompting it to turn away. The big fish turned back toward the swimmers and was fired upon a few times until everyone was out of the water.

No one was hurt and the Coast Guard thinks the shark was a Long-Fin Mako or Pelagic Thresher. Both species are aggressive and very dangerous.
