Reds Broadcaster Apologizes After Using Homophobic Slur On Hot Mic

Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman is apologizing for a comment he made during a hot mic incident before Game Two of the Reds doubleheader with Kansas City.

During the pregame, Brennaman was unaware his mic was on and used a homophobic slur to describe an unnamed location.

Audio of the incident exploded on social media and during the fifth inning, Brennaman offered an apology on the air and was replaced by studio analyst Jim Day for the rest of the game.

The Reds later released a statement saying Brennaman had been suspended from broadcasting future games.
