The Columbus Blue Jackets took the Tampa Bay Lighting to five overtimes before falling 3-2 in Game One of their series.
Columbus got on the board early thanks to a power-play goal from Pierre-Luc Dubois in the first period and then took the lead again in the second on a score from Oliver Bjorkstrand.
The teams battled into five overtimes before Tampa Bay got the puck past Joonas Korpisalo on their 88th shot of the game for the win.
The teams will next meet again on Thursday for Game Two of the series with puck drop set for 3 p.m.
