Testing positive for the coronavirus may have saved the life of Minnesota Vikings linebacker Cameron Smith.
Smith has confirmed that he found out he has a congenital heart condition...and he only found out about that after testing positive for COVID-19.
While the 23-year-old will need open heart surgery to fix the birth defect, he’s expected to recover just fine.
He also called his COVID diagnosis a “blessing” because his heart is severely enlarged and he’d have died otherwise.
