The Blue Jackets beat Toronto 2-0 to make Joonas Korpisalo became the first CBJ goalie to win his postseason debut.
Playing in the NHL's Eastern Conference bubble in Toronto, the Blue Jackets and Maple Leafs sparred back and forth for two periods until Cam Atkinson scored just two-minutes into the third period on a breakaway wrist shot.
Columbus then rose up on defense to hold off the Maple Leafs comeback attempt, putting in an empty-net goal by Alexander Wennberg with under 30-seconds to seal the victory.
The Jackets will take tonight off and return to action for game two against Toronto on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
