Blue Jackets Defeat Boston In Pre-Stanley Cup Exhibition Match In Toronto

The Columbus Blue Jackets scored three first-period goals and then held on to beat the Boston Bruins 4-1 in an exhibition warm-up match.

Boone Jenner scored the first CBJ goal in nearly four-months four-minutes into the game followed by one each from Zach Werenski and Gustav Nyquist.

Goalies Joonas Korpisalo and Elvis Merzlikins split time between the pipes, and Alexandre Texier scored a third-period empty-net goal to close the game.

Columbus will now officially restart their season on Sunday night when they take on Toronto at 8 p.m. in the first game of their best-of-five qualifying series matchup.
