Man Cashes In Years Of Coin Savings Due To The Shortage

The coin stash a Wisconsin man has been saving for years is now cashed in.

Jim Holton, dubbed the Coin Master, has been saving his extra coins for the last 20-years. He began his hobby when the oldest of his kids was born. It began with a piggy bank, then dozens more containers, including ice cream tubs, buckets, and tins.

With the recent coin shortage, he thought it was time to help out and exchange the currency. After hauling what he thought was around one-thousand-dollars worth of coins to the bank, Holton was shocked to find out it’s worth over 53-hundred dollars.

Holton is hopeful he can use the funds for a special occasion and says it will be a while until he saves coins again.

In case you didn’t know, the coronavirus outbreak has caused a national coin shortage forcing some businesses to only accept electronic payments.
