The NFL team formerly known as the Washington Redskins has a new temporary name.
The team will be known as the Washington Football Team for the 2020 season.
This gives team officials more time to come up with a permanent name.
In a statement, the team said they will include input from players, alumni, fans, the community and sponsors to develop a long-term name.
The Redskins name, first introduced in 1933, was dropped recently by owner Dan Snyder amid pressure from sponsors and Native American advocacy groups.
