Wearing a mask to prevent COVID-19 could be mandatory in Akron.
City Councilwoman Tara Mosley-Samples unveiled a proposal yesterday that would require masks in public, with exceptions for eating, health issues or certain work environments.
The ordinance was drafted after Dayton became the first city in Ohio to require masks.
Summit County Public Health officials told the Beacon Journal that no more than 25-percent of people are masking up.
