Chase Rice Addresses Backlash Over Weekend Concert

Chase Rice received a ton of backlash for headlining a concert in Tennessee this weekend where concertgoers didn’t seem to be practicing social distancing, with very few wearing masks. Well, now he’s responding to negative feedback, although he doesn't apologize or offer any regrets for the show.

“I just wanted to address my show Saturday night… I took a video of the concert, everybody had a blast, but then once I posted the video, a lot of people seeing that online had a big problem with how the show looked, how the show went down,” Chase shares on Instagram. “I understand there’s a lot of varying opinions, a lot of different opinions on COVID-19, how it works with live music crowds and what all that looks like.”

He says from now on, he plans to focus more on the safety of his audience. “You guys are everything to me, so your safety is a huge, huge priority,” he adds. “The safer we are now, the quicker we get to get to actual normal live shows, which I know we all want. Please go by the rules, please go by the laws.”

Chase has another concert scheduled for Friday in Ashland Kentucky, although unlike the Tennessee show, this one is taking place at a drive-in.
