Columbus Out Of The Running As A Potential NHL Hub City

The city of Columbus will not be a host for NHL teams as the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin next month.

The NHL informed the team on Monday that Nationwide Arena was out of the running.

Las Vegas appears to be the front runner as the likely U.S. host city, and the NHL seems determined to put one of the two hub cities in Canada due to restrictions over COVID-19.

The closest Canadian city to Columbus still being considered is Toronto, with Vancouver and Edmonton also on the list.

Team training camps are set to open on July 10th.
