MLB Players Union Counters Owners Offer With Shortened 89-Game Season

The Major League Baseball players union is offering a new proposal to owners in another attempt to have a 2020 season.

According to reports, the union's new plan sent on Tuesday afternoon would see an 89-game season with full prorated salaries.

MLB owners had submitted a proposal on Monday with a 76-game season, and 75-percent prorated salaries.

Under the player's plan, the season would begin July 10th and end on October 11th to avoid overlapping with the NBA Finals.
