The Alabama Crimson Tide claimed another National Championship this past Monday night in a thrilling 26-23 overtime win over the Georgia Bulldogs.
And while most of America watched to see who would claim the number one ranking, a small group of people just south of Atlanta who already knew who the number one team in the country was.
And that would be a few University of Central Florida fans whose team went undefeated, going a perfect 13-0 this season and—it’s worth noting—received four first place votes in the final AP Poll of the yearranking sixth overall.
Now, of course people will argue that was because of the strength of schedule as they didn’t face nearly as many top ranked opponents given their American Athletic Conference schedule.
But these fans of the UCF Knights have a way to get around that conundrum—play Alabama now.
And this unidentified group of UCF Knight fans is so sure they have paid for a billboard on the streets of Tuscaloosa.
The billboard congratulates Alabama on its win over Georgia and then adds a little something extra, reading:
“Congratulations Alabama!
How about a home & home series against UCF.”
Hey, don’t laugh at the thought, because in order to complete their perfect season, the Knights won the Peach Bowl beating Auburn—the only team this season to beat both Alabama and Georgia.
Yeah, it’s not gonna happen, but how cool would it be if the Knights and Bama faced off in a game next season during a non-conference weekend.
