#GoodNews: SWAT Team Becomes Superheroes For Kids Stuck In Hospital

While most kids in the country were heading out to trick-or-treat for Halloween, some little ones were stuck in the hospital and missed the holiday. But in Toledo, Ohio, some police officers traded in their uniforms for superhero suits and made the day of some sick little patients.

Kids at ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital were amazed when they spotted Spiderman rappelling down the side of the building! Sergeant William Shaner with the Toledo Police Department’s SWAT Team was happy to dress up as Spidey to bring smiles to the pediatric patients on Halloween. He says it’s a welcome break for a team that spends a lot of its time with folks at their lowest points.

And the kids loved every minute of the festivities. They didn’t get to leave the hospital, but they still enjoyed the holiday. “This was awesome!,” says 10-year-old Christian Albain, who’s getting chemo for his leukemia. “I got to be around other kids and got to go trick-or-treating here and see superheroes climb down the hospital. It was just great!”
