Disgruntled Fan Paints Swastika On Steelers Team Flag

While you may be on either side of the fence when it comes to the controversy we are seeing with NFL teams and the American Flag, I think we can all agree on an NFL flag that was spotted outside a home in West Deer Township, Pennsylvania.

Apparently a disgruntled Pittsburgh Steelers fan, upset over the team’s protest last Sunday during the national anthem, protested the move by painting a red swastika on Steelers' flag and displaying it in his yard.

The owner has since said the team’s decision to remain off the field during the anthem—save for Steelers left tackle Alejandro Villanueva, a former U.S. Army Ranger—was an insult to veterans like him. Specifically, Uhl blames the Rooney family, the owners of the Steelers, for the protest.

Anyway, Uhl insists he does not support Nazism despite utilization of the swastika, instead claiming the use of the Nazi symbol was to cast the Steelers organization as unpatriotic but has since apologized—kind of.

“I want to tell your viewers that I was wrong in placing a Swastika on the Steeler’s Flag. The Flag has been removed,” Uhl wrote in the statement. “I’m not apologizing but should not have singled out just the Steelers. The Swastika, a symbol of Hate, should be worn by all the NFL players who do not stand for our Nation’s Flag and Anthem. If the players and owners want to demonstrate against President Trump and the disparity against races, then they should unite in uniform and march on Washington.”

Um—somebody needs to sit and teach the difference between anti American. What you painted was anti-human.
