Lions kicker Matt Prater now has two NFL records. See, Prater also owns the record for the longest field goal in NFL history – a 64-yarder he hit back in week 14 of the 2013 season against yards).
And now, he has the strangest.
Because last night in his Lions 24-10 win over the Giants, Prater was called upon to kick a 56-yard field goal and that is exactly how far it went—hitting off the crossbar and bouncing just inside the left post.
Hey, basketball as the bounce pass.
Well now the NFL has the bounce kick.
