In case you were a football fan up late on Monday night screaming at the Chargers game in Denver, Colorado, you probably missed a Colorado player screaming at baseball fans in Arizona.
That would be Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado who was already having a pretty great game against the Diamondbacks.
In addition to an incredible defensive play in the field to save, Arenado had already had a clutch two-out double to tie the game at 2 apiece in the sixth—which is probably why one D-back fan was chirping at him as he stood in the on-deck circle in the eight with two out and two on.
And Arenado simply walked away, but only for a few seconds.
That’s how long it took him to step into the batter’s box and smash a three run, two out homer.
And on the way back to the dugout, he gave the fan some trash talk back.
The Rockies went on to win 5-4.
The fan went home to obscurity.
