Everyone knows that relief pitchers are the ones credited with the save in a baseball game.
And that is what reliever Cory Knebel was credited with in yesterday’s 6-5 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
But really that actual physical save went to center fielder Keon Broxton.
Because with the Brewers clinging to a 6-5 lead with two outs in the ninth, St. Louis’s Randal Grichuk hit a deep fly ball to center that sailed over the centerfield wall.
Thing is Broxton sailed after it—snaring it from the sky and saving the game.
