PORTLAND, OR--- The Cavaliers did not lead the entire game until a 4th quarter jump shot from Donavan Mitchell, from there on out the Cavs got a hard-fought 119-113 win in Portland. In the early portions of the game it seemed more like the dunk contest has left and right Allen and Mobley were catching alley-oops from Garland and Mitchell, Allen seemed to score all his 24 points off of dunks. We would also see the long awaited return of Ricky Rubio, who scored 9 points and dishing out an assist and pulling in 3 rebounds.
The entire starting 5 for the Cavs tonight were in double figures scoring. Allen scored 14 of his 24 points in the first half, achieving a double-double with 10 rebounds. Donovan Mitchell was clutch in the 4th quarter, but was stellar all night , leading the Cavs with 26 points on the night, dishing out 5 assists and getting 2 steals. Garland would also have a 20 point double double, scoring 20 even dishing out 10 assists. Evan Mobley would score 17, mostly off of dunks as well, 2 rebounds off a double double of his own. Isaac Okoro had 11 points, also having 2 steals on the defensive side. For the Trailblazers, Damian Lillard made sure the Cavs didn't lead all game dropping a 50 piece with a 57% FG percentage. Jerami Grant also sported a 50% shooting night, scoring 22 points. The key aspect for the Blazers keeping the lead all game was ball movement, the Cavs simply couldn't keep up at times, especially with Lillard.
