When it comes to the saying, “like father, like son,” it’s usually a good thing.
But that certainly isn’t the case in the Ball family.
This after a TV appearance yesterday by recently signed—and slightly less recently released—LiAngelo Ball. He revealed that while he was quick to thank President Trump in helping with his release by Chinese authorities—he didn’t want to.
LiAngelo says UCLA made him thank Trump during his public apology saying that when he didn't include Trump in his initial written apology, and the school told him to do so.
"If they didn't tell me to do it," Ball said. "It wouldn't have been in there."
Then, like son, father LaVar Ball was sitting alongside LiAngelo during the interview and was asked if he any had any say. And while he’s made it clear in other interviews that he's not sure if Trump “did anything to help his son,” he insisted he let his kid make his own decision on the subject.
Yeah, well considering LiAngelo recently said he only shoplifted after his teammates did it first—something tells me he did exactly what he saw his father doing.
He can’t get away from that man and off to Lithuania soon enough.
