The Warriors revealed yesterday that star point guard Stephen Curry will miss at least two weeks with a right ankle sprain.
An MRI yesterday revealed the extent of the injury Curry suffered late in Monday night's win over the Pelicans that occurred as Curry and Pelicans guard E'Twaun Moore got tangled up leading to his hobbling off the court and leaving the arena on crutches.
"It was a dumb play because I tried to go for a steal," Curry said after the Warriors' 125-115 victory. "And then obviously it was just a bang-bang [play]. I got caught on E'Twaun's shoe as I went by him and couldn't catch myself. So obviously it hurt, but wanted to kind of get back here, get ice on it and get the rehab process started as soon as possible."
The good news in the MRI indicated Curry's ankle was stable and structurally intact, but he will not again be evaluated for another two weeks.
Look on the bright side Warriors fans, the Cavs have the longest streak in the NBA and they’ve done it without star player Isaiah Thomas all season.
The Warriors will be fine.
