Residents of Rockland County, New York are being warned to keep an eye out for a coywolf: part coyote, part wolf.
Technically, the large animal is an eastern coyote, but according to a wildlife expert who's caught this type of animal before, the cat is a genetic mix between a coyote and a wolf due to cross breeding in the wild.
So far, this particular coywolf has only been spotted twice, and no injuries were reported. If the animal is seen a third time and acting aggressively, authorities say they will have to act.
