It doesn’t take a great football mind to realize the Houston Texans postseason hopes were sidelined the moment Deshaun Watson was with his season-ending ACL tear.
And if you haven’t noticed yet, just look at the man he replaced in week one that has returned to the lineup, QB Tom Savage, whose last name would only be more accurate of it was changed to the synonym “brutal.”
In fact, Savage has looked so bad that it makes people think anyone could do a better job.
Don’t believe me?
Then how else do you explain the fact that Robert Griffin III, who grew up in Texas, was mouthing off to the Houston Chronicle yesterday?
“I feel like I could help the team. I know a lot of their guys. I think I can do a lot of things they’ve been doing offensively,” Griffin crowed. “Texas is home, and I’ve always got a soft spot in my heart for Texas.”
I’m sure he does, but if RG3—who if you take away his rookie season—is 6-19 as a starter and has thrown just one more TD (22) than INT (21).
Meaning if he thinks he should be starting for any NFL team right now, he also has another soft spot—in his brain.
