49ers Acquire Jimmy Garoppolo From Patriots

After stumbling out to an 0-8 start with a pair of backup quarterbacks, the 49ers have decided to go with a proven starter.

Well, sorta.

Because the 49ers acquired New England backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo yesterday for a 2018 second-round draft pick after he proved he could start for two games last season.

The Patriots' 2014 second-round pick filled in for a suspended Tom Brady last season completing 68.3% of his passes for four TD’s and zero interceptions and getting two wins in each of his two starts.

Fun fact Colin Kaepernick conspiracy pinheads: to track his last two wins you would have to go back to week six of 2015 and gloss over a dozen losses on the way.

Sorry…just love pointing out how terrible he is.

And speaking of QB who aren’t of starting NFL caliber, Kap’s replacements—Brian Hoyer who lost the team’s first six games before rookie C.J. Beathard stunk up the next two—were never the answer either.

Not the team and head coach-slash-offensive guru Kyle Shanahan gets a clean slate for the second half of the season with Jimmy G.
