Thanks to a Green Bay, Wisconsin police officer, a little boy’s birthday was a whole lot better. Officer Darryl Robinson was called to a local elementary school when a student wasn’t picked up at the end of the day. Both the boy’s parents were in jail and they didn’t have any other emergency contacts for him. And to make it worse - it was the kid’s birthday!
So while the police searched for someone to take care of the boy, Officer Robinson treated the tyke to a trip to McDonald’s and gave him a ride in the cruiser, too. The boy’s family members were located and he was dropped off with them afterwards.
The Green Bay Police Department shared the story on their Facebook page and gave props for the kind gesture. “Thank you to Officer Robinson for taking some extra time to celebrate the child’s birthday, “ they write. “We are proud to have him as part of the GBPD team.”
