On July 24, 2016, Erin and Abby Delaney were born conjoined at the top of their heads. The North Carolina twins were successfully separated during an 11-hour surgery in June and now they’re finally getting ready to go home from the hospital.
The baby girls have learned how to sit on their own, roll and crawl and they spent their first birthday at the hospital, but now their parents are looking forward to bringing them home as soon as November. Erin has been discharged and Abby will be after she recovers a little more.
“The girls are inspiring,” their proud mother, Heather, tells the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where the girls had the surgery and have been cared for since. “As their parents, it is very neat for Riley and me to have a front row seat to this and watch them overcome these incredible obstacles. We cannot wait to see what their future holds!”
