Veteran Taylor Morris and his wife Danielle are getting a brand new home built for them overlooking the Cedar River in Iowa. The construction of the custom home is being funded by the Gary Sinise Foundation and it’s built to accommodate Taylor’s special needs - he lost portions of all four limbs in 2012 when a bomb went off.
The house uses “smart home” technology that remotely controls everything from the shades to the lights and security systems. And the best part? The “Walls of Honor” where veterans, community leaders, and friends wrote inspirational and personal messages of thanks and encouragement on the walls of the adapted home.
Even actor Gary Sinise wrote a message to his pals Taylor and Danielle: “The messages contained within these walls are written to fill your new home with the love and appreciation of a grateful nation.”
The Morris’s are excited about their new home and look forward to moving in when it’s complete. Taylor says, “It’s hard to put into words the gratitude we feel.”
