When their canoe was swept away in a storm, the Cluett family wasn’t sure what to do. They had been staying in a remote area in the Scottish Highlands and without a boat, Jon, Helen, and their four kids would have a very difficult three-mile hike back to their car.
But when they called the police for help, they learned that the next train coming by would be the Jacobite - the steam train used in the “Harry Potter” movies as the Hogwarts Express. The train picked the family up and gave them a ride to the stop where they could get a ride to get their car.
“I’m slightly sad because I’d lost my boat,” Jon says. “But the kids, when they saw the steam train coming, all sadness left their little faces and was replaced by excitement and fun — just the real joy of having an adventure and having the train stop right next to them.”
