The Las Vegas Knights have only played two games in the NHL franchise’s history, and they are already—in my opinion—one of the classiest teams in the league.
And not just because they went into their first home game last night with an undefeated 2-0 record.
It’s because of what they did at that first home game.
In what was an emotional evening—less than two weeks after the deadliest mass shooting in United States history took place a mile up the road—the Knights paid fitting tribute to the fallen.
Rather than using the boards for advertising space in their first game at T-Mobile Arena, the Knights had messages like “#VegasStrong” displayed.
And it seems to have motivated the players, too, as they team scored four goals in the very first period alone last night.
Look at that, they aren’t just winning NHL games, they’re winning NHL fans.
