As for the game itself, the Western Michigan Broncos needed seven overtimes to defeat the Buffalo Bulls, 71-68, in college football action in Buffalo. Jarvion Franklin rushed for the winning score in the seventh overtime to give WMU the win. Franklin finished with 176 rushing yards and three scores on the ground, and also caught TD-pass. Jon Wassink threw five touchdowns for 4-and-2 Western Michigan. Drew Anderson threw for 597 yards and 7 touchdowns for Buffalo, who set an FBS-record for most points in a loss. This game is the fourth in FBS history to last seven overtimes.
