Kent Bailey, president of Coppertail Brewing Company in Ybor City, Florida, was looking for a way to help victims of Hurricane Irma when he realized he could help just by doing what he does best: making beer. So he enlisted help from his beer buddies and IRMA IPA was born.
Florida craft beer competitors are coming together for this good cause, Coppertail is working with Green Bench Brewing in St. Petersburg, and 7th Sun Brewery in Dunedin on the brew, which will be released to the public October 16.
Now breweries in Jacksonville, Palm Beach, and Miami are also on board to make the special beer. And 100% of the proceeds are going to Feeding Florida. And for this charity beer, the first letter of the hops used - Idaho-7, Rakau, Mosaic, and Amarillo - spell out IRMA, the name of this nasty storm.
