As you can imagine, New York Giants co-owner John Mara is not very happy this week.
And not just because his NFL team is playing piss poor football.
This week, it’s actually because of his star receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'spiss poor touchdown celebration last Sunday.
Mara said yesterday that he’s very “unhappy with Odell's behavior on Sunday” when, after scoring his first TD of the season and his team trailing 14-7, did what he did best—selfishly made it all about him.
That’s when Beckham celebrated in the endzone imitating a dog urinating resulting in the Giants being penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Unfortunately, after the game, Beckham stopped acting like a dog and refused to heel saying he had no regrets after the Giants' 27-24 loss.
"I'm a dog, so I acted like a dog,” Beckham told reporters. “I don't know if the rulebook said you can't hike your leg. He said I peed on somebody, so I was trying to find the imaginary ghost that I peed on. But I didn't see him.”
There you go Giants fans—and don’t expect it to get better before it gets worse.
The NFL said in the offseason when it a made the celebration rules more lenient that the only things they couldn’t be were obscene or scatological—and Beckham’s was both. Maybe it’s time to put that dog to sleep.
