Players all across the NFL have responded to President Trump’s comments over the weekend as nearly 200 players have decided to either stand, kneel or raise their fists during the national anthem at NFL games in response to Trump's calls for “those sons of bitches” to be fired.
But that doesn’t mean the President is standing down.
In fact, to use a technique for a different game, Trump doubled down on yesterday saying his criticism of football players who kneel during the national anthem “has nothing to do with race,” tweeting:
The issue of kneeling has nothing to do with race. It is about respect for our Country, Flag and National Anthem. NFL must respect this!
Many people booed the players who kneeled yesterday (which was a small percentage of total). These are fans who demand respect for our Flag!
Trump also added one more tweet, praising to his supporters among NASCAR fans and owners, writing.
So proud of NASCAR and its supporters and fans. They won't put up with disrespecting our Country or our Flag - they said it loud and clear!
Shocking, the sport that goes in circles relates most to Trump.
Of course, the more out president behaves like this, he’s not circling a track as much as a drain.
