One NFL player has done more for his adopted hometown than anyone ever expected. J.J. Watt saw Houston suffering as the damage from Hurricane Harvey became evident, and used his fame to get much needed money for recovery.
We told you the story previously about his YouCaring fund overflowing with donations. Well, Watt closed it out this weekend so he can get on with doling the cash out to storm victims.
His total is staggering; the best defensive player in the NFL raised over 37 million dollars! It took 429-thousand plus people to give in order for the J.J. Watt Foundation to collect that cash. Impressive!
Not that Watt cares, but his kindness and action has now put him in the running for the league’s Walter Peyton Man of the Year award. Well deserved, we’d say.
